Up to this point WSA and Cint had been tech partners for several years with WSA relying on the Cint insights exchange model to build a consumer panel as an additional revenue source, so it was not hard for them to spot Cint’s new solution Connect and its potential.

Via Connect, WSA realized they could offer more to its customers by providing audience analysis based on behavioral tracking that would also uncover the profiling and demographics data of the users navigating their client’s websites, while still retaining the capability of running survey interviews on the exposed web users.

In a nutshell, Connect is a SaaS solution that allows you to put a face on who sees your online content thanks to real-time tracking technology. Connect will monitor all the visitors passing through a webpage, cross reference them with the 40 million registered members present in the Cint insights exchange and, when a match happens, show you their demographic and profiling data, turning them from just a number to actual people.

Once the consumer data is revealed it can be taken to the next level by allowing WSA to engage them with targeted surveys and get immediate evidence of the tracked content’s impact.

The first WSA Connect campaign was incredibly successful and had as a client one of the largest consumer electronics retail companies in Scandinavia.

They wanted to dig deeper into the demographic data of the visitors of four of their main electronics segments present on the web store: Computer components, TV & Hi-Fi, Photo & video and Home appliances.

With the insights gathered from the Connect campaign WSA managed to upsell two follow up studies targeting key audience groups that were of extra importance to the client.

Additionally the data showed that one particular demographic (sole proprietor businesses) was not as active on the web-store as the client thought, and pointed out that this should have been considered in future ad strategies, ultimately providing solid intel for a revisioned marketing plan and the capturing of a bigger market share.

The campaign ran for 30 days gathering millions of impressions and thousands of matches, unlocking dozens of data points for each visitor. Like: location, gender, age, marital status, household size and type, number of children per household, employment status, income and more.

All the collected data allowed WSA to do further analysis and, using the data visualization tool Tableau, create a full report for the client culminating in the average persona type for each of the four website segment. Additionally, of the 48 397 matches, 8 638 were unique and 3 475 instantly available to the client for further research via survey interviews, allowing for deeper investigation into the consumer’s behavior.
