How MoyaApp is using market research for social change with Cint

Introducing MoyaApp

Shana Abrahams is the Head of Research at MoyaApp, a mobile app and digital platform that enables data-free messaging and houses over 300 apps within its environment. It also provides paid survey opportunities to its users.

The organization’s core mission is to help break down digital barriers in South Africa. The app was first created to help South Africans access government support during COVID, using digital channels without requiring the use of large amounts of mobile data or taking up limited phone storage space. 

It has since expanded into also becoming a high-quality research panel, offering South Africans the opportunity to participate in paid survey opportunities. 

Challenge

MoyaApp wanted to engage with panelists across South Africa in order to offer them the opportunity to earn rewards that eventually help with the cost of groceries and other expenses.

The company also wanted to give researchers an opportunity to survey South Africans, while simultaneously scaling its operations and driving revenue.  

To do so, they required a partner with the capability to connect MoyaApp to paid survey opportunities at scale, allowing them to programmatically connect participants to surveys whilst providing an engaging and seamless experience.

Solution

MoyaApp partnered with Cint to connect researchers across the globe seeking insights from South Africans and to achieve their growth and revenue goals by integrating with the Cint Match solution. 

Cint Match uses unique entry links to send panelists to the highest-performing available surveys in the Cint Exchange. The resulting links store demographic information about panelists and is then used to programmatically match panelists to the correct survey opportunities.

Increased revenue:

Since integrating with Cint in 2023, MoyaApp has seen consistent revenue growth from its panel, helping to scale the business and open-up a new stream of revenue. 

“With the Cint integration, we’ve accelerated our revenue growth and have created a steady stream of income,” says Abrahams. 

MoyaApp has seen a 31% year-on-year increase in completes from 2024 to 2025 to date. They’ve also seen revenue go up by 54%, and their conversion rates are up by 23%

Scale:

Cint Match connects MoyaApp directly with its 4000+ buyers spread across 130+ countries worldwide. 

“We’ve had one panelist make 600 Rand, which is easily your grocery money for a week or two if you are living below the breadline in South Africa. I have panelists contacting me regularly to thank me and ask if there are more surveys available. We are actually making a positive change in people’s lives.
