In the largest election year globally – in which 64 countries have either had or will have major elections this year – just how influenced will our votes be by what we see on social media? And how worried should we be about the intervention of AI?

A reporter from Stylist covered Cint’s live session at Advertising Week Europe which revealed the findings of a study polling 1000 respondents of voting age across the UK.

“Younger generations, for one reason or another, tend to be a little bit more influenced by what they’re seeing online and a little bit less skeptical about different sources,” explained Ariel Madway, Cint’s director of events marketing. “Gen Z in particular are the ones who are getting all of their news from TikTok rather than the BBC.”
